Boccara is delighted to present the exceptional performance and exhibition of the Korean mother-and-daughter duo artists, Cha, Yun Sook and Hayeon, at our gallery space in Brooklyn.
Cha, Yun Sook creates her artworks as a way of paying homage to nature. She is aware of the ignorance of nature during the progress of human civilization, she expresses her gratitude to nature by the mark making process of ink on Hanji paper and textile. Nature is celebrated through her performance of dressing others in clothes dyed with ink imbued with healing properties meant to lift the wearer’s spirit. In her performance, Cha cuts, folds and sews pieces of fabric to drape over Hayeon to complete a one-of-a-kind piece. The audiences are part of the performance by interacting and receiving the shared strips of fabric from the artists, which can be worn or carried as a reminder of our connection to the natural world.
